Event was held on Sunday 12 April 2026 at Eastlake Golf Club, Daceyvile. Report by Michael Weaver
There were 16 contestants for the Stuart Mathlin Cup for 2026. Unfortunately Doug Mathlin and associates were unavailable this time. Doug was keen to play and committed to the event, only to realise he had been double booked for a wedding, in a country NSW location, on the same weekend . So we hope he will be back next year.
It was the first time we have played at Eastlake and the course was found to be in very good condition with some challenging holes.
The Eastlake Golf Club is a par 72 course that measures approximately 5,812 meters. Known for its challenging layout, it features significant elevation changes throughout.
An enjoyable day for most, as long you didn’t mind the regular low flying airplanes coming in for landing at nearby Mascot airport.

Tim Croft- 14

Congratulations to Jamie Mutha for taking out the trophy as champion with 39 Stableford points on the day. Jamie is extremely honest with his game and his handicap. Currently on a mark of 21, he hopes to have this down to 10 by the time next year rolls around. I believe he has the ability to do this as he is prepared to combine his talent with plenty of good practice and learning
Also congratulations to all who took part as I am sure there were some shots played by everyone at some point during the day that they could be proud of. Consistency is key (!)
Many enjoyed the clubhouse beverages after the game and many before the first tee off, at 12:10pm, as well. Unlike last year at ‘The Coast’ course, conditions were clear but quite windy, which made low scoring difficult.
